Patron: I was told to come here and get change…
Me: Well, we really don’t give out change here- Oh shit! Is that a $2 bill? I’ll give you change out of my wallet right now!
Patron: They are really not that difficult to get.
Me: Sure sure, but I spent my last one by mistake… or maybe I lost it. Anyway, now I have one again!
Patron: You know, you can just go to the teller and ask for $2 bills. It’s actually what I do for my grandchildren. Birthdays, Christmas, other events…
Me: That’s actually a brilliant idea. Pretty sure my mom gave me a $2 bill when I was a kid and I wound up losing that too
Patron: And one day, I go to my grandchild and discover… I’ve been giving them much more than I thought. Over time, they had accumulated over $2000, just in $2 bills.
Me: Whoa
Patron: They are now richer than me, and wiser for not spending it.
Me: That’s kind of sweet
Patron: AND THEY COULDN’T SPARE $10 TO GET THEIR GRANDPARENT CAB FARE.
Patron: Ungrateful.
