All Free Library of Philadelphia materials are equipped with RFID chips so we know when patrons are leaving the building with library property.
Patron: Did you know that your secret chips in your books set off the burglar alarms at Target??
Me: HAHAHAHAHAHAHA actually no, I did not.
Me: Makes sense though, it’s all just RFID tags.
Patron: So I go in, and all the alarms start going off. The employee comes by and says “You got a book from the library?
Patron: And I’m all, “How did you know?”
Patron: And they’re all “We get that a lot. Just get ready- they’ll go off again when you leave too.”
Me: I wonder how much chaos I’ve brought to Target.
Me: I hope it’s a lot.
