I’m walking down my block and I see a couple of kids on their porch playing with the street kitty Dot.
Me: Hey guys. Is this your cat?
Kiddos: Yep!
Dot: Oh man it’s that bearded guy I was tellin you about. The one with the good food. HAI FRIEND
Me: But… but… but you’re a street kitty
Kiddos’ Parent: Hey did you make sure there’s enough food for the cat- Oh hi neighbor.
Me: Hey. What’s the story with this little one here? He follows me around sometimes
Kiddos’ Parent: Oh, that’s our Leo
Me, internally: LEO??? UGHHHHH that name is actually great
Kiddos’ Parent: He was born a couple months ago. The other kittens stay in the house but he likes to run outside. Don’t worry. We treat him for fleas.
Me: but but but but
Kiddos’ Parent: What a sweetie he is.
Me: but but but
Kiddos’ Parent: And the kids just love him
Me: Oh… awww… well… okay. Thanks guys. See you around.
Dot/Leo/are names eveN REAL: Yoooo wait for me
And then Dot followed me home and I fed him and didn’t kidnap him.
