New Events on the Calendar!

Hey everybody! Winter’s actually over now and I’m crawling out of my little winter hidey-hole to have a little bit of fun in the area. Maybe I’ll tell some stories, maybe I’ll make some new ones. Either way, I hope to see some of you out there!

Events for the next month or so:

  • DO ATTEND

Have you heard of the Furnace Party? No? Well, first read this. This flyer was distributed in February in the Fairmount area of Philadelphia and nobody knows who did it even though we have pictures of the guy. I’ll be joining the insane crowds looking to immolate ourselves in the empty lot at 27th st and Girard Avenue, and maybe you’d like to come encase yourself in steel with me. Should we survive, I won’t have a lot of time to hang out because I immediately have to run to Camden for

Do you remember that time I went to Keystone Comic Con and fucking hated it? This isn’t gonna be like that. Camden Comic Con has consistently been my favorite show outside of San Diego, and there’s a good chance one of these years it will surpass San Diego as my all-time favorite. It’s small enough to be intimate, it’s big enough to have important people, and most importantly, it’s goddamn free. Over the last 5 years of its run, I’ve had the distinct privilege of getting to know two of its organizers, Bill Haas and Miranda Powell, and they are a real powerhouse in the Philly/Camden comics scene. I’ll be there until closing time at 6:00 pm.

I’ve done a couple of these StorySlams in the past, but it’s been a while. Come watch me get on stage and make a fool of myself saying something silly and maybe a little funny! Tickets and information available here.

It’s a work event! I love going to cons, and I love putting them together. I’ll be behind the scenes working the show most of the day, but if you happen to see me, flag me down and say hi!

That’s all the events for now, but I’ll keep updating the calendar (and you!) so don’t forget to check back. Is there somewhere you’ll be that you think I should go? Let me know at matt@mattstalltales.com. Love ya!
