iiiiiiIIIII FUCKED UP
I FUCKED UP HARD
Okay so I set my alarm for 7:30 AM. I knew that was pushing it, because Dad and I both had to shower and, more importantly, eat. Wait times for food during Comic-Con can get a little crazy, so snoozing my alarm for 30 minutes was not my finest move. Especially since Dad decided to rely on me to wake him up. So I scramble myself together, and I’m out the door restaurant-hunting before Dad’s even functional.
I run to the IHOP we’ve relied on for years. It ain’t there. Google says it closed. So I gots ta run to the hotel, tell Dad IHOP’s a bust (he never checks his phone) then find someplace new. We need to be at the Convention Center by 9. It’s 8:30. So I text him, hoping he’ll see it, telling him to go straight there and I’ll provide the breakfast. I grab a tuna and a chicken sandwich and I run off to get the show started. Eventually we met, I gave him his sandwich, and I had to run immediately off to the Comic-Con Film School program. I got there way late, and I saw Valerie Perez and Nick Murphy wave me in as if to say “where the hell were you?”
Sean Rourke, Comic-Con Film School host/moderator and awesome dude.
From left to right: Jack Conway, Valerie Perez, Josh Perilo, and Nick Murphy.
I’m not even on the panel. They’re just used to seeing me in the front row.
I’m both hungry and shameless. I pull out my chicken sandwich- in REALLY loud plastic wrap, by the way- and shove it down my throat as fast as I can while Josh Perilo gives me a nod of approval from the stage.
All in all, a good start to the show.
