Me: Well you won’t find that anywhere because it isn’t true. The first free public library was in Peterborough, New Hampshire.
Patron: But… this is the first free library in Philadelphia, right?
Me: …yes. The Free Library of Philadelphia is the first Free Library… in Philadelphia.
Patron: Okay, thanks!
